Location of brake fuse
Hi there:Start at the brake switch, generally is located top of backside brake pedal... if you have power in, and power out... go back to the tail lights, working your way back through the harness... find the point where you loose power... there will be a junction where all 3 brake lights come together... check the connection there... see if you have power before and after the junction.
Check and test position 13, 15AMP...
Fuse panel (located left side of instrument panel)
Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

SOURCE: 1996 ford explorer license plate fuse
I'm not to sure what one you did want license plate light or the tag light up high above your back door. I know I am reading license plate so I will say the fuse needs to be replaced. plate lamps need 2 light bulbs and the fuse box is under the steering wheel or under the hood there are 2.
in my book it said that it is a (194 trade number), I woulds change out bulbs and then fuse.
SOURCE: ABS Light / Sensor on 1996 Ford Explorer
the rear one is a single sensor and is located in the top of the rear differential , unplug it and take the retaining bolt out and it pops straight up out of the differential. the front has 1 for each wheel, and is located on the backside of the wheel hub. take the tire off and look on back side of hub it should be the only sensor thare and is anchored with one bolt then just fallow the wire to its disconnect point. this vehicle is known to have problems with the rear sensor so i would replace it first and see if this fixes the problem
SOURCE: where is the horn located on a 1998 ford explorer
The horn is usually between the radiator and grill Assembly. The fuse is in fuse panel under the dash on the drivers side. Look at the lid and it shows the fuse placement and there use.
SOURCE: cant find the fuse for my brake lights on my 2002 ford explorer
if the third brake light works you will probably need a brake on off switch. the fuse panels on that truck are under the dash near the steering column and under the hood in the power distribution box. both of these panels are identified in the owners manuel.
