I had a similar problem on a mark 2 golf i had a while back, it turned out that i needed a new idle valve. either get a haynes manual and replace it yourself or take it to a local garage.

It is very easy to have a drive axle pop out of the transmission if the clip is not fully seated. The axle can pull out just far enough to disconnect from the gears.
You would be able to tell because the axle shaft would not be locked into the differential.

My 1988 honda civic spudders and will shut off when coming to a stop? it runs fine until i apply the brakes or slowing down? please help

This is often due to a dirty idle speed control valve and throttle valve, please do the following service.

To correct this problem I want you to get a can of intake cleaner (ABOUT $5.00) from any local auto parts store like NAPA or Carquest, do not use carburetor spray, intake cleaner only or u will damage the Teflon coating inside the throttle valve and air bypass valve, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.

When i stop at a light or stop sign the engine bogs and doesn't want to go after the stop, feels like too much or too little gas is getting to engine?

Check your compression. It sounds like you are running on 3 cyl. It's common for civics to have a burnt valve. If that's the case the only way to fix it is to replace the head or the valve. Either way the head has to come off.

My 1998 honda civic ex wont start, I have tried changing the fuel filter, distributor cap and rotor, and air filter. It cranks but wont fire up... a couple days ago the car stopped running while my dad...

Make sure your distruibutor rotor in turning while cranking engine, if it is timing belt ok, more then likely your not getting spark to spark plugs check your ignition coil, but more then likely it's going to be your ignition module.

Overheats once in a wile no codes on scanner.

I have a 2002 Honda Civic Ex, it has been over heating but only in stop and go traffic, never on the freeway, i have replaced, timing belt, water pump, cooling fan relay, cooling fan switch, flushed radiator. There is no white smoke coming from the tail pipe and the oil is clean, when the car gets hot i can smell the coolant pretty strong, car has never completly overheated gets about 3/4 of the way til red.

Poor Idle, dies at stopsigns

I have used this fix for your problem for 20 years.
Here are some of the causes of surges, stalls at stops, slow idle speed, erratic idle speed, rough idle and engine hesitation (and other problems), it is in most cases the idle speed control air-bypass valve and or throttle valve and upper intake, these area's get full of gunk and combustion residue over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls, low idle) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake.
