Question about 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe
If code says same o2 sensor. It could be the other one they communicate with each other. But definitely get the codes pulled again first.

Hi, since the check engine light (CEL) is on you need to get thetrouble codes read. Most auto parts stores will do this for free. Ifthere isn't one nearby, any shop should be able to read it (for acharge) or you could buy your own code reader.
The code(s)you'll get will be in the format PXXXX like P0171 or similar. Once youhave the codes you can look them up here to get a description - http://www.obd-codes.com/trouble_codes/
Orpost the codes back here and we'll help you out. The next step is toget those codes though so you know exactly which areas of the engine toconcentrate your diagnosis efforts on.
In your case the problem is intermittent but it keeps coming back so something does need attention. The reality is it could be something as simple as a loose gas cap (since you have no real symptoms), however it could be more serious. Better safe than sorty, I'd recommend you at the very least get the code(s) read so you can judge for yourself how serious the issue(s) is.

It sounds like you have either a lean or rich condition ocurring, could be exuast leak, vac leak, leaking fuel preasure regulator, cat convertor. At this point would go to dealer for diagnosis.

I am having the exact same problem with my 2001 Hyundai Elantra. I was told that the engine code that comes up when the sensor is on is called "Absolute Pressure In The Manifold". I was told by a "Hyundai Specialist" that when that code comes up it usually means that the seal on the manifold is Fuct. When my mechanic checked that out for me he had noticed that my manifold had 4 cracks in it(can varify cause he showed me). He replaced the manifold and gasket. The car ran fine for about 2-3 days and since then the problem has since come back and my check engine light will no longer go on/off it only stays on. Because of the check engine light always staying on I have noticed that on many occasions my car will hiccup many times in a row. The only way to stop the hiccup I have noticed is to take my foot right of the gas for approx. 2-3 sec then car will continue without hiccup(till it happends all over again). All in all I have been having this problem now for approx. 1 year and if there is somehow someway it could be repaired I would appretiate it.

The o2 sensors are located on the exhaust system. The upstream in on the rear exhaust manifold and the down stream is in front of the catalytic converter.Usually when they are bad they will make the check engine like go on.Make sure the air filter is clean, tires at correct inflation, alignment is to specs. If the vehicles pulls to one side or the other or steering wheel is not straight when driving down a straight stretch of road. Also tires are wearing normal.Use cruise control where ever on highway. If you let your vehicle warm up in winter. This also uses gas.Hope this helps.Good luck.

This sounds like they are not sure what the problem is, i would take it back may have a bad injector and they tryed cleaning them but it sounds like one may be bad, its getting repaired for free i would take it back and tell them its still acting up and just keep records of what they are doing just in case the problem returns when the warranty is up.
