Question about 1994 Mitsubishi Montero

Open Question

Tail lights and dash lights dont work.

I have a 1994 Mitsubishi Montero. My running tail lights and my dash lights quit working at the same time. I checked the tail light bulbs and they are still good. I also checked the fuses under the drivers dash and none of them are bad. What else could be the problem?

You may have a bad light switch or a bad wire at the light switch.
Only way to know is to remove the switch.

A blowen fuse will cause that, most all dash lights and taillights on cars and trucks run off the same fuse.

SOURCE: No dash or tail lights

Hello.
The same thing happened to my BMW. All my fuses were fine too, what the problem was, was that the fuse that belonged to the dash lights and the brake lights, taillights etc. was wrong. If the fuse is not the correct amperage not everything on that circuit will work. So even though that the fuse is not burnt, the fuse could still be incorrect. Thats your best bet to check.
Your second solution can be the ground on that circuit. Check the grounds that come from the taillights, and find where it connects to the body or the frame with a small screw of small bolt. If the ground is dirty or rusty, it wont make a good connection and you will have loss of lights.
Hope this helps!

1998 montero sport. Tail lights and dash lights do not work. Brake lights work, and dash lights flash with right turn signal. What is going on?

Your tail lights and brake lights are on a separate electrical circuit mainly because your brake lights need to be activated by the brake switch in your brake petal. Check the voltage regulation circuit in your dash light circuit to see what is faulty.

I have 2002 Mitsubishi montero sport when i have my headlights on and turn my blinkers on tail lights go out, no dash lights either

You are mixing dual element (2 DOTS) and single element (1 DOT) bulbs.
Open ALL socket and look inside and fit the correct bulb back into the socket.

The Dashboard lights and the taillights are out on my 2003 Mitsubishi Montero. However, the cars runs.

Tail lights could be bulbs, however, if your dash lights are out , you'll want to check all fuses first. If that's not it, you'll have to look at the wiring to see if it has any breaks in it or if any wires are severed or burnt in half.

My dash lights dont work at all

The tail lights are usually on the same fuse as your dash lights. Check to see if you have tail lights. If they are on and it's only your dash lights that don't work, check the dash dimmer switch for a fault.

Dash and interior lights do not work

Dash lights are on the same fuse as the tail lights. Dash lights not working is an indication that the tail lights are not working. The first thing to check is that the tail light fuse is not blown. Most of the time replacing the tail light fuse will restore both the tail lights and the dash/interior lights. If this is not the case you may have to trace the wires and look for a broken or unplugged wire in the harness.

Brake lights on 91 montero work only with headlights

Check the ground to the back tail lights, the ground may be poor and when the lights are on and may draw through the running lamps or vise-versa. Inspect the bulb connections and using a multi-meter or inspection light check for 12V DC at the terminals. Have a friend pump the brake pedal to check the brake lights to be certain the switch is ok (the switch is actuated by the brake pedal just under the dash)

I hope this may have assited you,
Tom

NO. it uses the same fuse as the tail lights. If the tail lights are working th efuse is good. The bulb is most likely burned out.

No dash lights or rear tail lights

Often stereos have a dash light feed to dim the display when the park/head lights are switched on. I suspect this wire may have been shorted during installation, causing a fuse to blow. Are you certain that the fuse for the park light circuit is intact? I know you have checked them all, but I have overlooked blown fuses in the past, easy enough to do. The best way is to use a test light with the ground clip to a good earth point, and probe both sides of the fuses (ignition key on, park lights on) to see if the test light lights up. If it only light up on one side of the fuse, it's blown.

Hope this helps.
