SOURCE: will 1995 4l60e ecu, lockup a 700r4 torque converter?

Your best fix would be to install a hydralic lock-uo kit in the transmission. This would be best done by a good trans shop. The lock-up systems between a 4l60 and a4l60e are quite different and would shorten torgue converter life.Hope this helps you.

No the 4l60e is a electronic transmission you need to find a 700r4 transmission which are very common. Check with your local junk yards and are pretty easy to install. About a full days worth of work for a person with general know how of vehicles.

SOURCE: Will a 1988 700r4 fit my 1996 w/4l60e?

It will bolt up but it uses a vacuum/electric switch to engage overdrive and the 4l60 is all electric. You'll have to get that switch and wire it in. It should be on the firewall close to the heater box of the donor. Hope this helps.

Make sure you have the correct flexplate for the engine. The bolt pattern for the converter will bolt to any 700 / 4L60 converter for V8's. 3 piece 4L60/65E trannys use different converter bolt pattern( bell housing unbolts)
the V8 style 4L60 and 700 are the same. the converters are the same , the flex plates bolt pattern for converter are the same. All bolts are still metric. 700 trannys have always been fully metric.
There are minor differences in 700r4 & 4L60's, but they all interchange parts. Later design parts are better. Some valve bodies & separator plates do not inter change from late to early design
700r4 name was changed to 4L60 when GM updated several areas of the trannys. Parts are basically the same.
GM updated listing names on the trannys ; 4L80E , 4T65E , etc.
4L60E & 65E are different in several areas from the non "E" units.
The 3 piece 4L60E ****** case design is different again. Different pump stator, converter design is different.
Early 700 pumps and stator parts must be watched for mis-match. You will have little or no pressure with mismatched parts of early pump / stator designs.
--------- The 700R4, 4L60, and 4L60E have the same external dimensions and case. The 4L60E is the electronic controlled version of the 700R4 / 4L60. The transmission has the following dimensions and gear ratios.Click this link below for more details :--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/08/700r4-transmission-swap-on-4l60e.html ----------- This will help.thanks.helpmech.

Non computer controlled 700 / 4L60 will bolt to the engine. -------- The 4l60E needs a computer to control pressures & shifts..... or convert the 4L60E to full manual shift with vacuum control main line pressure. You'll need to pick another way to control the TCC though.TCC is the torque converter clutch. It needs to be locked while cruising in 4th to reduce heat. You will need to get a kit and get toggle switch attached to it.Manual operation means you can flip the switch and have the torque converter locked or unlocked any time you want. ------------ There are also kits available for complete manual operation for this transmissions.---------- The kits are called :---- Transgo 700-2&3 kit. Click this link below :----
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TRANSGO-700-2-3-REPROGRAMMING-KIT-700R4-TRANSMISSION-/220827453243?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item336a57873b#ht_500wt_975 ----------
After you install this kit, you need to install the toggle switch to control the TCC lock up.Because there is no computer connection. A toggle switch is simple way to lock TCC. You dont have to let up on the throttle to shift with full manual. But you do have to match the engines R's with road speed just like manual trans now.

Your trans will shift to wherever and whenever you move the shifter AT ANY SPEED with a 700-2&3 kit in 'full manual'.

This will help.thanks.helpmech.

Headlamp wiring

I'm going to start out by saying I don't know. But between the two of us we should be able to figure it out. I don't know how the wires are coming out of the new plug.
On the truck, the left headlight harness is white green, red black, and green black. White green is power, red black is the ground for the high beam, and green black is ground for the low beam.
On the right side, dark blue light green is power, and the other two are the same color as the left side.
If you look at the right side and figure out which terminal on the headlight the dark blue light green wire goes to, that is the same terminal you use on the left side for power. Then the other two wires are the same for both sides.
I can post a wiring diagram if you think it will help.

Need to hook uo a flat four trailer conector ,dont know ford

The rear lights :

Brown is the parking lamps ( either side )

Driver's side Stop / Turn : Light green w/ White stripe wire
Pass Side Stop / Turn : White w/ Light blue stripe wire

Another option ( for use with the factory trailer circuits ) is to add / replace the factory tow adapter. eTrailer has them, if you are interested. This is the type adapter as Ford p/n: YL3Z-13A576-G. You would need to install the relay and the fuses for the trailer circuits if you do this.

Trailer light problem

Check it with a test light. White-ground, Yellow-left turn, Green-right turn, Brown-tailights. Check it on the truck first. There are seperate fuses for just the trailer wiring in the fuse box under the hood. The Blue and Red wires are for Trailer brakes, don't worry about those.
