My es300 96 lexus is always over heating. i wouldnt say over heating b/c if freezing cold where im located. but anyways, there is always white smoke coming out the front engine and then clouds of white smoke through the tail pipe. what is wrong with my car? it drives well though.
White smoke means water is getting into the engine from teh coolant system. Likely that your engine cylinder head has a crack, or head gasket is bad
SOURCE: ES 300 burning gas - coming out exhaust
sounds like a head gasket leak if the car is leaking gas DO NOT drive it if the gas is hitting the exhaust it will catch fire
SOURCE: gray smoke
i have a vauxhall combo 2003 deisel excessive smoke and lack of power can you help
U have a blown/leaking cylinder head gasket or gaskets.
SOURCE: I have a 1997 Lexus ES 300 it smokes at start and when I excel
It sounds like the oil rings are worn, this means that when you park up at night the oil seeps through to the top of the piston causing it to ssmoke on start up... the only real cure is for the engine to be stripped down and new rings fitted...this isn't cheap keep talking to the dealership.. they should be able to get a pressure test done this will tell you if it is a ring or not.... hope this helps
SOURCE: '92 Lexus Es 300 - White smoke from exhaust and smells like gas.
It's the ECU. Very common with the early '90s lexus cars. Everyone will say head gasket, but unless your oil is milky white, it's not coolant leaking into the cylinder.
Buy an ECu on ebay for less than $100, it plugs in under the dash, just like a computer printer. Easy fix.
