2006 - a/c is not working
This is such an old thread but if you or come one else has stumbled back upon this thread:
When you pull the fuse panel cover off of the drivers side and you see the fuse panel, if you look directly above that panel mount you will see a small-ish hole that goes to the internals of the dash. When you get a flashlight and look in there you will see a relay panel and the closest one to you will be the 384 relay. Most are numbered on a VW/ German Engineered autos but if not that is where it'll be.

yes, it's called the load reduction relay and it is in the 13 fold relay panel under driver side dash.

Originally had issues with the battery - batter was replaced. Since then, the compressor for the A/C will not engage. Manual A/C - button lights up when pushed, but the engine does not bog down and air does not cool. Automatic roll up of driver and front passenger window is also not working. A/C worked fine until issues with the battery. When searching online, the #384 relay is mentioned frequently for a 2006 VW Passat 2.0 with similiar problems, however, we cannot find this relay. Does anyone know where it is located?
