SOURCE: can't eject cd's from 2005 toyota sienna

can you play the cds? if you can but it won't come out, it may be a motor issue. if you can't, it may be an obstruction. to avoid doing any damage to the cd or the player, do not stick anything in there to try and dislodge it. instead, remove the player from the dash (unbolt and unclip the moulding shell, unbolt the radio from the mount, and unplug it), remove the top case, and remove the cd. while you're in there, try and find the obstruction. in many cases, pieces from the thin plastic sleeve from the visor cd holders will stick to it and come off in the player.

Remove tape from car tape deck

tape, you have working tapes in 2013, wow?
i'd send em to the Smithsonian inst. LOL sorry!
done vast numbers. (wish not)
can be 2 things.
eject failure
or munch failure.
both require, lid off deck.

the capstan drive can eat any tape, for sure old taps and 2x that
dirty
if the tape is not wound around the capstan, then its not munched.
and is a simple eject failure,
gota love tapes... '

a better solution is a new head.
with USB port.
rip the tapes to MP3 (on any PC for free)
then copy them to USB stick (files)
end life of bad tape H3LL.

I have a 1998 mercury sable and the tape deck doesn't work when I put a tape in it flips from side 1 to side 2 a few times then it ejects. how can I fix this?

May have to remove the unit & take to a car radio
shop to have it repaired
Those shops are very hard to find, but will fix it
If you don't pull it out yourself it will get costly &
no repair shop fixes radios & tape deck,so forget
that approach

Radio won't eject tape

tape is probably caught in the reels, you might have to force it out of the deck, i forced mine out with my eyebrow tweezers, the tape was obviously ruined cause it ripped, but better the tape than the deck...

head may be dirty...May need cleaning....theres a product sold out there that requires that u drop a solution to the head cleaner and insert the head cleaner into the deck...u will need to run the cleaner a few times as if u were playing a regular recorded tape...this process cleans the head...if thats the problem...

Getting an ERR8 code on the factory tape deck. Holding EJECT for 5 seconds isn't helping. There is an iPod conversion cassette (no actual tape) stuck in there. Is there a manual release somewhere?

No, there isn't. The only way I know to remove a cassette when the 'Eject' function doesn't operate, is to remove the audio unit & disassemble it to the point you can access & manually turn the gear(s) of the 'eject' mechanism. In the process, you could possibly discover where/what the problem is and fix it.

Tape Deck does not recognize tape adapter. Does not eject.

Just an idea .. In the past I have removed hungry decks from my cars. A lot easier to work on / dismantle than in dash. gently remove the casing and you should find the tape deck a separate component within the whole unit.Hook up via alligater clips to battery to power up and alligater clips to a speaker lead to hear. saves a lot of stress. Usually done for chewwed up and swallowed tape. results are good, surprisingly.

Cheers !

Clock problem

Hi Ido,

- turn the tape deck/radio off.
- then press 'mode' on the display
- use the 'arrow keys' to set the time
- up and down - change figure
- left and right - select minutes/hours
- press 'trip' to return back to normal

Hope this helps,
Eitan.
