Maybe your truck has problem with the cold start valve it would be located away from the thermostat and radiator somewher.

Do you have any trouble codes stored in the engine control module? if not the likely cause is loss of fuel pressure, when it stalls have the fuel pressure checked, with the engine cranking it should be around 40 PSI another issue is covered in the following procedure I have developed for common stalls near idle, like deceleration stalls and cold start stalls.
Here is the most common cause of surges and stalls and low idle, it is the idle speed control air-bypass valve and throttle valve, they get full of gunk over the miles and cause idle issues (stalls) like yours, Get a can of intake cleaner from any local parts store, not carb spray, intake cleaner, it is made by a company called CRC, remove the air intake hose to the engine, hold the idle high so the engine won't stall, then spray the can of cleaner into the intake while keeping the engine running, use at least 1/2 the can, shut down the engine and disconnect the battery for 5 minutes, then restart and complete a number of mixed driving cycles, town, freeway, stop and go etc., after a few days the problem will go away as the system will relearn to the clean intake. Please check these things out before you rate this, I have been doing this type of work 20 years and have good results with most stalls with the above tests and procedures.

You need a new cam positioning sensor installed . Heat buildup under the hood can cause excessive resistance in the fuel injector, leading to failure of signal to the injector. In other words, when the injector is hot, the vehicle won't run.
Also, pull the air intake off and jiggle the fuel injector wires, from the harness, while its running. If it changes tune or stalls, you have found your problem. Go to the junkyard and get a new connector with plenty of lead wire, splice it it. Make sure its a good splice.
