Question about 1991 Audi Quattro
I have a 1993 Audi quattro cs90 , I took the battery out to charge. When I went to put the battery in next day I discovered that the hood release cable is broken. I would like to know if there is a way to open the hood from the grill or perhaps from underneath. I have looked at some Audi forums regarding this problem but they are not very specific. I don't want to scratch paint or destroy the grill. Can you please help?
I'm stuck in the snow...
Ok if you can access the end of the cable from inside the car try using a set of vise grips to hold it and carefully pull to open the hood. if you need to access the latch from the grill its a tight squeeze but I recall that a thin screw driver was able to move the lever to release the latch. see the attached pic the unit is upside down try to push the lever towards the drivers side http://www.worldimpex.com/assets/partimages/043694.jpg

It may be that your hood release cable that runs from the hood release is broken. You'r going to have to try and manually release the hood latch by tripping the release through the grill with something like a long screwdriver. You should be able to identify the latch trigger by following the cable to end.
You might also try having push down on the hood while another person tries to trip the latch if the cable isn't broken, but just stuck.
