You need to Change your Fuel Filter its under the car on the passanger side, it has easy disconnects on it, get a new one, lift it up, make sure you put stops around all wheels, because it could fall if it goes forward. Couple of reasons - #1) in colder/winter climates car needs to run richer at start up. #2) When was last time you replaced your fuel filter? A partially clogged fuel filter and/or air filter will increase fuel consumption.
Disconnect the fuel lines from the fuel filter
CAUTION Some residual fuel will remain in the fuel filter after disconnecting the fuel tubes. Carefully drain the remaining fuel into a suitable container.
Hi this is a common problem for these cars the whine noise is coming from the fuel pump and once they fuel pump starts whining the life of that pump is very short the best thing to do is replace the fuel pump and your fuel filter it shouldnt cost much mainly under $100. Anderias
