To remove the door with out being able to open it, you have to take off the fender to get to the door hinges, alot of work, but thats where they are... i would just take it to a shop... sorry im not that much help.

My Equinox tailgate seems to be locked and will not open

May have been packed too tight, or something shifted as door was closing and became lodged in either the locking mechanism or the side supporting latched to the left and right lower edges of the door. Try applying some pressure to the outside of the door while turning the key. If you are trying to use the Key fob to open, the stuck position will not allow lock to disengage at all. If that does not work, have someone crawl inside and push while someone outside turns the key.
Silly question but, I need to ask, what is the temp. outside? There is also the very real possibility that, the door seal itself has been frozen to the painted mating surface along the jamb of the door. You would need to park in above freezing temp (full sun will work sometimes) if this does work, get some silicone sprayed on a rag (fairly wet) and wipe down the painted mating surface where the seal meets the jamb. Good luck

98 accord door handle broke door will not open

A non electric door, (which?) wont open, lock works ok, handle wont open the door.
What can I do to fix it.
well telling the door to us would help, and options.
so no electric locks,
there are 2 levers. one inside and one outside.
so you pull the door card (inside door covering)
and look at both locks , the inside pull, its it working?
then look at the key lock cylinder. is it connected still
and last are both connected to the latch mechanism.
one can cycle this latch lever inside the door shell.
if that fails the latch is busted.
all this is covered in the FSM ,why not read it.? (under body)
free , too.

My passenger side door stopped opening on me last night... the door locks and unlocks but will not open from inside or outside.

you have to open the door panel from the inside and see if the rivets broke off or if the rods going to the opening mechanisim fell or broke off.

About 6 months ago someone tried to break into my driver side door. Ever since, you couldn't unlock the door from the outside with a key. The door would open and close just fine though. About a week ago,...

That sounds like what happened to my neighbor. They came to the conclusion that someone tried to jam a screwdriver in the lock to open the door.As far as not openeing anymore, that happened to me and I had to replace the mechanism inside the door.I bought a used one for $5 and did it myself.A regular mechanic should be able to fix it however, you may end up needing to have 2 separate keys for your car if they replace the lock.1 for the ignition and other locks, and 1 for the drivers side lock.Call around a few places for a few estimates.Tell them the same as what you posted, they should be able to give a close estimate over the phone. Also, please read my tip about car keys.It is good free info.Good luck! Power locks work inside but key wont turn outside

A rubber boot around the lock motor can disintegrate and get caught up in the motor gear or if the link age assembly to the motor gear has been fixed with epoxy glue ( allowing no free play) then these symptoms can develope which allows the automatic door locks to work but very stubborn almost impossible to open manually.

Front doors will not open from outside.

take a pitcher of hot wtaer out to one of the doors and pour the hot water starting at the top of the door and you should be able to open the door , now if the key lock is frozen use a lighter and heat the key up first then put the key in the lock and turn the key to unlock the door

My car is acting crazy!

" turn the key on engine off 8 times. the doors will lock and unlock. push one of the buttons on the key fob and the doors will lock and unlock. do this for each remote that you have. when you are done turn the key off. the door locks will lock and unlock. the remote fob should work after this."
