RKE not working

My RKE isn't working, I've replaced the battery and did the resync. It seems to work when I open the door manually then stops. Also how do you get a copy of the key made ?

    This was the remote that originally came with it. It worked for about 6 months then one day stopped altogether that is until I unlocked the door manually or just after I stopped the car and got out the RKE would work but seconds later not at all. I thought it was the batteries so I replaced them, did the reprogram as it says in the manual and I still get the same thing. Works when I get out of the car for a few seconds and that's it.

    there are real problems with the module that controls the system, read post after post like yours, all the same, just worded different, keys that work and don't work, remotes work one day and not the next, do an internet search and check all this out, but most likely you will need a new anti-theft module.

    copies have to be programmed, best if u use only GM keys, have heard aftermarket ones cause problems, did u reprogram the remote?

There si a service bulletin that has us replce the module, remotes, antenna, and reprogram. If the car has, say up to 40k miles or so, the dealer should take care of this under warranty, since this is a common problem, and there is a bulletin for it. It has nothing to do with the anti-theft module as a post above states. The module is called the " Remote Control Door Lock Receiver" (RCDLR)-

None of the door power lock's work ? Not from any switch ? F32 - 15 amp fuse location - body control module (BCM) . Probably not a fuse issue , door locks are controlled by the BCM controlling relay's located inside the BCM . This relay's are PCB - printed circuit board relay's , non serviceable . Your best bet , take it to a qualified repair shop .

Power Locks
The Body Control Module (BCM) monitors the door lock control switches. When the BCM receives an unlock/lock command from either door lock control switch, the BCM energizes a relay (internal to the BCM ) to supply the correct power and grounds for the door lock actuators.

Remote Keyless Entry (RKE)
The Remote Keyless Entry (RKE) feature is controlled by BCM . The BCM receives the RKE inputs from the Tire Pressure Monitor (TPM) module over the Medium Speed Controller Area Network (MS-CAN) . When any RKE transmitter button is pressed, the signal is received by the TPM module internal antenna. The TPM module then filters the RKE signal received to make sure it is a programmed transmitter. If the signal received is from a programmed transmitter, the TPM module sends the RKE command to the BCMover the MS-CAN . The BCM then interprets the RKE command and activates the corresponding output.
The BCM requests the illuminated entry feature to turn the interior lamps on when an unlock command is received. If a lock command is received, the illuminated entry feature turns off. The BCM then supplies voltage to the appropriate door lock actuator(s) to lock or unlock the doors. The RKE transmitter can also be used to activate the panic alarm. On vehicles with memory, the RKE transmitter also causes the BCM to send a MS-CAN message to the Driver Seat Module (DSM) to activate all memory features to the positions associated with the RKE transmitter being used.

The driver's side door will not lock or unlock via remote control. What is the solution for this? All other doors lock/unlock when remote is used.

is it freezing there? (ice happens)
car drives perfectly day and night? (tells me battery not dead or weak)

does outside metal key work, does inside lock lever work?
if not its frozen inside.

ill assume the 2 mech, ways work and solenoid is dead.
get car serviced?
do you have tools, and skills?

this, its a solenoid. seen below. inside the door.

The FOB battery weak can cause this, try both fobs yet.
one door RKE receiver (hidden below) can be weaker or stronger.
and may fail if the RKE (fob) is weak. Rem.key entry=RKE
so a new battery in the fob is a now thing.
22year old FBO battery? hopeless if ever.
ok if the manual doors work ok and only a good fob fails (both)
(car came with 2 so...)
then the problems is below.
here is an example of how complex it can be. and real solutions.
93-97 location. reciever.
Just pry up the defroster grille panel and it will be on the passenger side, held in by 2 screws.
scan the PCM first. looking for RKE errors, BCM errors>?
if 12vdc does not reach the solenoid,
then the Door controller failed or the BCm fail to sen the command or the remote receiver (entry) module never sent it.
my guess is the RER is ok, as it opened other doors.
so that leaves, BCM mess up. or soldenoid bad.

here is the receiver. that is failing, if 2 fresh fobs fail.
fresh batteries.
some green PCB below are in overhead lamp module
others are in door, (sun roof?)

i think this is 1999.

My Ford Focus car doesn't centrally lock anymore, I have to use the key. It's not the fob battery because I changed it.

Sure you did put in a new battery? sure you did insert it correct? not the other way around? sure you did use the correct battery? like CR23 or AAA?
Sure all contacts in the battery compartment and on the battery are clean and shiny?
just a few things you could check.

Doors will not open by using remote key pad

both RKE keys dead.? car came with 2 , lost one?
replace the battery in RKE fob yet, why not, its like $1 fix.

Rke not working properly

possible the lock rod clip broke inside door or became disconnected will have to remove door panel to get to clip there made of plastic and usually break or pop during cold weather

Locks go crazy,alarm goes off, now the car won't start.

I've had this problem under warranty on my '05 Malibu LS. They replaced and reprogrammed the fobs. Looking in my shop manual, it seems the problem is from the content theft deterrent (CTD) system. My car started doing this two years later off warranty and now I just lock the doors from the outside with the key or by pushing the lock stem buttons by hand on each door. The security option in the DIC needs to be set to RKE for this to work though.

2002 Toyota Sienna power sliding door stopped working

it seems like this is the motor that operate the sliding might just be the switch on the door where you push the button if that isnt the only button that cant operate what it is suppose to operate...the motor will be locted inside the door
