My check engine light came on and stayed on for 2 days. The third day it went off. The fourth I had the oil changed. The light came back on about an hour after the oil changed was done.
You need to pull the code have your work shop check pull the code are you sure its check engine and not service engine light?
This has nothing to do with the oil, it does indicate that a problem has occurred in the electronic engine controls, have the system tested, there will be a trouble code stored for the event.
