Question about 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee
When i turn on the windshield wipers the lights come on, why is it doing this? i also need to replace the switch for the turn signals, they quit working first. could you tell me how and where i find the part to replace?
The lights are designed to come on when you activate the wipers, this is because most often, state law dictates that you turn your lights on while driving in the rain, no matter the time of day. This way you don't have to remember to turn them on. The turn signal switch is a multifunction switch which is comprised of the headlights, wipers, turn signals and all the other stuff that is controlled via the stalks and switches that are mounted on the steering column, you can check with your local auto parts store to see if they can get the assembly from an aftermarket source, this will be cheaper than the dealer. Also you can check eBay for new and used ones. Get a part number by calling the dealer about the part and see whats available online. Also Chryslerpartsdirect.com is an online site that sells direct from the dealer but at a deep discount, the parts are mailed to you. Best of luck!
