Throw-out bearing is perhaps warn... or the clutch plate could possibly be warped abit... but likely the bearing if the transmission isn't slipping.

i guess that i should add... the throw-out bearing is a round bearing that is used to disengage the cluth so that you can change gears... it spins because the rest of the clutch is spinning as well.

You might have a worn out clutch release bearing, that would be the common cause of the noise you describe. To replace that you must remove the transmission assembly, so if that is the problem reface the flywheel and replace the clutch assembly as well.

If rattle is coming from the bell housing when you disengage the clutch likely the throwout bearing

Bad front end vibration while in gear at idle only makes dash and floorboard vibrate

When you are in gear at idle with your foot on the clutch you have placed an axial load on the crank which is pushed forward in the main bearings against a thrust bearing. I suspect a failing thrust face on this bearing as it only works under a clutch release load. The only other point that is under load is the clutch throw out bearing but if that is failing you should be hearing a tinny type of rattle when you have the foot on the clutch

I have a 96 Toyota Tercel 4 speed manual car. When I pull off it makes a rattling noise that comes from the front end. When I press the gas it makes the noise but when I am shifting gears the noise...

rattling noise from front, first rule out any loose heath shield check exhaust system, and also your engine mounts when given gas your engine shifs under torque and when you let off the gas to shift engine moves back(no load, torque) if loose or broken mounts may cause interierence on moving parts(binding). do this firts good luck

Having trouble shifting...hear strange rattle when clutch NOT pushed in... sounds like a joint or bearing of some sort

Your throwout bearing may be nearing the end of its useful live. Your clutch may be in the same condition.

Please have this checked by your mechanic before any major damage occurs.

1995 wrangler front end rattles when i release clutch

Most likely the noise is the throwout bearing. If you have lots of miles on it you may consider doing the entire clutch while you're in there. If the pressure plate is in really good shape, you could just replace the disc, but if there are any hard spots on the plate it may chatter. Don't forget the pilot bearing in the back of the crank either.

Clutch rattle

this sounds like an adjustment issue. you did not mention the mileage...The clutch is released by a bearing, this release bearing needs to come back off of the fingers of the clutch pressure place, early wear and noise happens.

Near the end of the clutch life, you may find that you cannot release any more, if your model is adjustable.

Start with proper clutch release adjustment.
