Question about 2006 Chevrolet Malibu Maxx

1 Answer

I have a 2006 Chev Malibu Maxx. I was on my way to work this morning when I noticed my temperature gage not moving from C. I warmed up my car before I left this morning and used my defroster on my windows and it was blowing hot air. Does this mean that the thermostat is stuck open and if it is, how do I get it to close, or do I need to have a new thermostat replaced?

Check your coolant temperature sensor, do you have a check engine light.

It can be the instrument cluster problem or your coolant sensor because if your thermostat is stuck open your car vents will not blow hot air you need to hook up a scan tool to it. Hope this help.

No warm air --- 2005 Malibu Maxx LT.

My 05 is doing the same thing and the dealer told me this morning that it is a bad thermostat. The engine is not running hot or cold but normal. Not to sure on that one yet.
