I bought a chevrolet tahoe and the cd player says changer full and appears to be full becayse you can't put any cd's in the changer. but if the cds are in the player they won't play and they won't come out and you can't put any cds in.
Bad news. Your CD player isn't any good. I work for Chevrolet and this is a very common problem. The magazine inside the radio (the part that holds the cd's) starts going crooked. I think some real tiny springs that hold it break, causing this problem. Only fix is to replace the radio. First try this. Go to the fuse box under the hood and remove the 'Radio' fuse for 1 minute. This may reset the radio. You may be able to eject any cd's stuck in the radio. May be cheaper to put in an after-market radio. Sorry.

Same thing happened to me. I have 5 CDs in there but it says it's full. I will try to remove the fuse but I can't see that doing anything being as mine resets itself periodically anyway (I get in, start the truck and the display reads Noon time, this has been happening for a year, the cd ordeal just happened last month). I found an aftermarket wiring harness : PAC OS2-BOSE ONSTAR INTERFACE but I am wondering if this works with all aftermarket stereos (Alpine-Pioneer & what have you) or do I have to get a used 2004 Tahoe Bose/On-star unit... I don't really care for the factory unit being as I have a brand new Alpine sitting in a box from the Silverado I traded in for this a couple years ago that will actually play an mp3 (A 2004 that doesn't play an mp3 disc-gimme a break - Bad GM - tsk tsk).
cd player doesn't work and I want to remove the stereo
