Re: 1990 Yj Jeep Wrangler
Is it cranking the engine ?? If not then something is wrong the connection to the starter.Look for a bad connection to the starter. It could also be the starter solenoid. The best advise i can give you is to get it scanned for an error code for free at many parts stores. all youhave to do is ask if they do that.I know they do it at Autozone.

Has the fuel pressure been tested? Are you sure the ignition starter switch is ok and doesn't have an open that causes a stall out when the key is released. We do not have the diesel engine in this country so repair info is limited. You need to stop guessing and consult an expert, you have replaced parts that I would never replace for this kind of issue, a total waste of money and your time.
Then it is somewhere between the ignition switch and the starter and the battery, start with the battery . Is it charged? is it a good battery? clean all the batt. cables and batt. post, then inspect as you clean make sure everything is tight after you clean. Then after all is hooked back up try to start the car if no start still move on to the starter next and so on. PLEASE CHECK ALL THE FUSES FIRST ALWAYS LOOK FOR THE SIMPLE THINGS FIRST!
if its a manual transmission...then it should be the starter is bad... thats why when you rolled it down the hill it started... so for sure the starter is the problem... the average price on the starter for your car is $100 - $150 Good luck!
check the battery termals to see if that are corrosion free and very tight, thats first thing, check the alternator make sure it is putting out, while running remove the pos. battery termal to see if it stays running, if it stops, the alternator is not putting out, hope this helps you, thanks robert b.
