SOURCE: abs light on in land rover

I have spent way too much money trying to get the 3 amigos to go out...ABS light, TC light and downhill descent. I have decided to try and ID the wires that go to those particular dash lights and cut them. I am tired of this ****. Landrover told me three different things that may cause this issue and told me to start with the least expensive one first! Go to hell, Landrover. I will NEVER buy another Landrover product. Which wires can I cut?

LEARN THIS ABOUT ABS OR TRACTION CONTROLS
ABS MUST BE HAPPY OR TRACTION CONTROL FAILS OR GOES OFFLINE ! THEN
AND RULE 2 IS ACTUAL BRAKES, WE CHECK BRAKES ACTUAL FIRST!!!!
NO ACTUAL BRAKES WORK THIS OLD. 18 YEARS WARN OUT PADS
OR BAD CALIPERS.
NO COMPUTER CAN HIDE BAD ACTUAL BRAKES
IT CAN COMPENSATE FOR 1 SET OF PADS SAY WEAK.
NO GREASE ON PADS.
BAD ROTORS(WARPED OR OMG WORSE CRACKED)
BAD PADS , WE INSPECT THEM. EYE BALLS ON THEM .
BAD CALIPERS. , PISTONS BAD OR SLIDER PINS JAMMED. (BOTH ARE DANGER TO LIFE AND LIMB .
WHAT YOU ALSO FAILED TO DO IS SCAN THE ABS IT SELF
THAT TAKES ABS SCAN TOOL.

My 2007 Crown Victoria Police has the brake and abs light on, traction control is off. Brake pads and rotors are less than 5000 miles front, new rear. Get diagnostic code U1900 and U1262 front car.

You probably have a wheel speed sensor issue. With the proper scan tool that can access the ABS module it will tell you the exact issue.

How to reset abs and traction lights on 2004 colorado

there is no resetting of the ABS light. it means there is a problem somewhere in the ABS system. There are sensors by each wheel - they seem to be sensitive to moisture - they may have failed for the ABS sensors. the traction control light may be related to the ABS light. just check it out ! make sure there are no brake fluid leaks at the wheels, and be sure master cylinder is full of brake fluid. In most cases a scan tool is necessary to access the stored fault codes. good-day !

2001 Monte carlo tract control light is always on and so is abs light always on...brakes are good rotors are good. is there a reset button?

The ABS light has nothing to do with the condition of the brakes. The ABS is is own system that relies on the braking system in order to function. If the ABS light is on there there is a fault in the ABS system. This will also turn off the traction control since the traction control uses the ABS system.

The best start is to have the ABS system scanned for trouble codes. This will give you a clear direction in which to start finding a solution. This will need to be done with either an ABS specific scan tool or a high end multi-function scan tool. You can also try your local auto parts store to see if they can do this for you.

Once you know what the codes are than you can start figuring out what to do to fix it.

Some common failures on these are bad wheel/hub bearings, bad speed sensors, broken speed sensor wiring harnes.

Post the codes and I'll be happy to help you further.

My ABS light and Traction Control light is on my dashboard. I brough tthe car like it, the guy said if I change the rear discs and pads they should go off or be allowed to be turned off. Is this crrect? if...

Not likely replacing pads and rotors will shut it off. Something caused a code to set off usually a sensor error. The car should be scanned to find out what caused the abs to come on.As far as shutting it off most vehicles reset abs everytime the vehicle is started . The car then runs a quick self test on the abs and if it detects an error the light will come back on.

Traction control and anti-locks(ABS) lights come on.

Traction control and anti-locks(ABS) lights come on there is sensors that are pluged in behind the rotors check and see if they are disconected or loose sometimes when you change your brake pads they might come loose and not making contact.

ABS and Traction Control Light On

Because the brakes were changed, either one of the sensors were broken when removing brakes or it has set a code. Go to your local autoparts store and have them reset the code. See if it comes back on. If it does you will need to look at the ABS sensors on each wheel and replace if damaged

ASC & ABS light on cluster

Check to see if your brake pads and rotors are in good condition. Or if you have replaced the pads yourself and have not reset the wheel sensors this would cause the ABS Antilock Brake System light and the ASC Automatic Stability Control light to stay on as the ASC uses the ABS brakes with computer assistance to control the traction of the car if not fixed it can effect your rev limiter slowing performance

ABS/traction control 1998 lincoln towncar

sounds like the brake pads may be metal to metal, that could be the noise problem, but until u have the system tested for the trouble code that is setin the ABS modules memory when the light comes on you are guessing, the Dealer is the only one in most cases that has the scan tool to check ABS trouble codes.
