Question about 2005 Porsche Carrera Gt

Slipping clutch need to change clutch plates. no noise from thrust bearing or engine. all gears engage just very litte drive.

When you replace the clutch... always replace the thrust bearing as well.

opel vectra ,,,,ot sure if their is a automatic adjustment on the pedal ,if so it could be this failing which the cable could be frayed ,would really need to see it to know for sure

Noise on gearbox when clutch pedal is pressed down


Hi,I know money is sometimes an issu,but realy when you replace the release bearing you should also replace the presure plate and the clutch plate at the same time so that thay all ware in at the same time,all the best.

are you refering to the clutch fork that connects to the other end of the clutch cable, you will have to drop the gear box as this fork sits over the clutch pressure plate ,and pushes the thrust bearing against the pressure plate tynes so disengages the drive from engine to gearbox, while you've got the box out check the condition of the clutch parts ie thrust bearing,pressure plate spring's,friction plate condition

Car turns off when engaging clutch to a lower gear


Check the following:
- Thrust bearing, clutch.
TEST: Pull up the hand brake. Start the engine and let it at idle speed.
Depress the clutch pedal, put the car in 1st gear, while keeping the clutch pedal depressed. If the gear lever hesitates or produce any abnormal noise, replace the clutch thrust bearing.
- If the gear lever shifts smoothly, clean the throttle body, idle air control valve and perform idle speed learn learn procedure.
- Check the valve clearance.

your problem is common with manual transmissions the clutch system is worn out u need to replace especially the prssure plate though it is advisable to replace both the pressure plate and the clutchplate. the pressur plate fingers mustbe weak now the fingerrs are now unable to seperate the rotating flywheel ande the gearbox. remember to also change the thrust bearing. before attempting to change the clutch pack..... check weather the clutch cable is not lossened if its clutch cable type... if its hydraulic clucth fluid check the clutchnaster pressurw kits are not worn out. all this checked the car must engage while engine running

Humming gearbox when engine is engaged


Hi Ernest, It would help us to know more about the type of vehicle your are referring to. Is it a manual or automatic box? Is it fitted into a small passenger vehicle (a car) or is it a commercial vehicle? Is it front wheel drive or rear? Is it a two by four or four by four? In the event of it being a four by four, is it full time or is it selectable? A humming from the gear box will usually become more pronounced in one particular gear. If that is the case, the noise usually denotes a problem with the roller needle bearings for that particular gear. If the noise is in all gears it usually means that the problem is with the lay shaft bearing or that the gear assembly has been damaged in some way. If it is front wheel drive, the same diagnosis will apply, but added to it can be a problem with the differential (which is housed in the same housing as the gearbox. If the vehicle has a manual box, the thrust bearing can also give a humming sound sometimes when the clutch is pressed or sometimes when released. The test for that is simple. Start the engine push the clutch pedal and listen for any change in the sound. If the noise becomes more pronounced when the pedal is pressed the problem will likely be with the thrust bearing. If however the noise reduces or disappears with the same action, the problem is more likely to be with the input shaft bearing of the box. (The spigot shaft which is driven by the clutch plate or torque converter. If the vehicle is automatic The same may apply, or there may be a problem with the oil pump inside the box. I have a 97 civic vtec and im having serious problems with the clutch. i recently replaced the master cylinder because it was weeping fluid and the clutch was not dis-engaging properly so i replaced it...


if you are saying that there is a whirring noise whenever the clutch is engaged, it may be one of the two causes: it's either you have a loose spline hub on the clutch shaft OR there is misalignment on the engine and transmission resulting to the forward and backward movement of the clutch disk on the shaft..
you cannot get the car into gear.. hmhm, that is called a dragging clutch and it is usually experienced when the flywheel and pressure plate do not fully release the clutch disk in its disengaged positions.. Dragging clutch may be due to: 1. excessive clutch pedal free play or travel 2. improper adjustmen of clutch fingers or release levers 3. warped pressure plate, flywheel (which needs to be brought at the machine shop), or clutch disk 4. loose or worn out clutch disk facings 5. loose or worn out clutch linkage parts 6. accumulation of dust in the clutch 7. engine idling is too fast 8. tight/ burred splines 9. worn out pilot bearing or bushing 10. muisaligned beel housing

hi, if when you put it into gear and you lift your foot off the clutch then if your engine revs up without the actual power going to the wheels like when you say the revs change this indicates that your clutch is slipping, i wouldnt say their was a problem with either the cylinder master or slave and i wouldnt say it needed flushing out the problem you are having it that your clutch is slipping due to it being to low.

You need to get the clutch replaced sooner rather than later due to the fact that if your clutch plate shatters due to it being running on the rivets and not the actual clutch plate then this can cause the clutch to collapse and this will then cause damage to the master and slave cylinder and if you was driving at the time you would have no clutch at all and the car would be stuck in gear and you wouldnt be able to tow it as it would be stuck in gear.

You need to get the clutch and pressure plate the thrust bearing changed this will then solve your problem.

Clutch is noisy,when i depress the clutch the noise goes away


this noise is caused by a noisy clutch throw-out/release bearing, that is the part that presses against the pressure plate and disengages the clutch disk, the transmission must be removed to replace this part, so it is best to replace the clutch assembly at the same time, the labor for both is the same, about 5 hours

How easy is it to replace a noisy clutch thrust bearing. 53 plate Ford Focus 1.6 petrol zetec.


The thrust bearing is normally a part of a new clutch kit.Comprises pressure plate, clutch plate and thrust bearing.You will need to remove the gear box to change the bearing.The bearing basically slides onto the gearbox shaft. Recommend changing all three rather than just the beaing.You may want to get quotes from garages as dealers are expensive.
