I have had the car for over a month now, after purchasing from a second hand dealership in Port Stephens. The CD player may work when you turn the car on, but otherwise will not, and will display "error 5" - note there are no scratches on the disc. If by chance the CD does work, it will only play for a few songs then cut out and the display will show the song number, and the time length of the song is 00:00. Is there a fault within the CD player, or are the discs I'm using incompatible with the player? Note also, that I've tried bought CDs as well as burnt and the same thing happens.... Thanks, Emma

Out of Warranty pal. You can attempt to fix it yourself, but, if you don't have an electronics backgound, I don't expect you to succeed. Best replace it.

You could try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, or pulling the fuse.
The same thing happened to me. I took the dash out and got to the disc
changer and took the cd out... seems to be working fine now. This always happens when try to put a CD in before the player
can catch it. The trick is to press the LOAD button, wait for the GREEN
light, and then insert the CD. Try that.
This is a "mechanical error" and is probably due to a jammed disk. If the previous task dont work, once
you get it I think the only solution is to pull the audio unit and
replace it or repair it. Your dealer will have access to a hotline for specific audio related problems. Sorry I could'nt help you more!
