Okay, so is it the side of the thermostat housing that's broken, or is the screw "stripped"?

Alright then, what you'll have to do is acquire a new housing as it's virtually impossible to repair one of those castings. I'm sorry.

HOW TO REMOVE THE STEERING COLUMN COVER

Remove screws from bottom of the cover. Then the tricky part......the upper cover. It has a little tiny screw on the right hand side (stereo side) under the cover holding it down. I find that a 3mm or 4mm socket will take it out. It's a male star head, so opposite of torx.

How to remove inner door panel on a 1999 dodge caravan

Almost all door panels are attached by:
SMALL PHILLIPS HEAD SCREWS- these are found all around the door panel. They are normally hidden by; small plastic grommets (round, flat plastic push tabs used to cover and make it look pretty!)
-remove with flat head screwdriver or your nails at-own risk,
THE SPEAKER COVER-
-easily popped off by squeezing outer edges inwards releasing the male part on the speaker cover from the slot on the door panel
and
THE RUBBER OR PLASTIC COVER- found on the inner side of the door handle
-this cover may not be there for your model and you may see the screw or the grommet. If not, remove cover with flat head screw driver or needle nose plyers, then remove screw/s

Tips:
1)check for grommets if screw/s are not in plain sight)- plastic push tabs (flat head and round about a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch in diameter, normally matches the car door panel and fits flush with the panel as well so look closely! You will need a flat head screw driver for this part or try your nails at own risk.),

2) Once you have removed all the screws and or push tabs shake the panel to pin point any remaining screws or tabs. Some times there are slots in the door frame that join with the male part located on the inner side (touches the door) of the plastic panel.

good luck!

How to remove top plate on steering column the flasher switch is on top and to fix the problem i have to remove the steering column. i can not get the top of the steering column off.

there are a couple of screws that hold the lower part of the cover to the upper part. Remove those and remove the lower cover. There will then be two male torx screws that hold the upper cover in place just behind the steering wheel (look up under the column and you should see them on either side of the column). Once those two are removed the upper cover will come off.

Ignition switch pontiac

I am not sure of the correct tool name but it is a female torx with a male pin in the center. You have to remove the cover, and then you should see the screws on the left side, not the ignition cylinder side,. I had to change one from a pontiac grand prix and I had to go buy a set of the male/female torx to change it. After I changed it, I changed the screws to phillips so if the ignition switch needed changed again, I only needed a screw driver.

Passenger side map light won't work even after bulb replacement?

There is a little plastic cover that hides two mounting screws where the arm goes into the headliner. Pop that cover off and remove the screws. Pull the arm down until you can see the wires that run through the are. Make sure the connector is still connected and look to see if the wires are broken. If not, the wires could be broken in the sunvisor.
