SOURCE: 2001 Chevy Blazer. Service engine soon light on.

The temperature sensor is located on the intake manifold by the thermostat housing. Check the wire leads first and if that's good, replace the sensor and thermostat. The 4.3 was programed by the factory to run it's best at 190'", if it runs too cold. The mil light comes on indicating a temperature sensor failure.

this engine needs the water/coolant blead on the top of the engine you should see a pipe with a screw insert ,if not find the top hose ie any water hose at the top of the engine and open it while the engine is running.You should see water /air coming out if the pipe keep going until all air/bubbles is gone.With all air gone the system should be ok,ren for 2 miles and blead again.please rate this answer.adrian,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

there are up to 25+ symptoms

flushing only works on toilets.
My guess, is it's leaking coolant somewhere.
There should be no pressure next morning.

Cold water does not build pressure.
but if the vacuum breaker in the cap fails
this can cause vacuum pressure, that sounds like
air pressure. but is not. Reverse

The thermostat has to be open to allow flow thru the radiator, have you tried running without a thermostat to check flow ?

My 2001 chevy blazer stalls periodically when idle. also the temperature gauge shoots up to 260 F very quickly even though th coolant tank is full and when i stop the radiator does not fell warm or hot.

Check the thermostat to make sure the coolant is flowing through the system. If the thermostat is bad, then the truck coolant will heat very quickly. A thermostat may need to be replaced.

Blazer running hot. Antifreeze level low cause of leak somewhere. Antifreeze is showing up on top of motor. Seems like pump needs replacing, but coul dbe another problem. How do I tell?

If you are seeing coolant on the top side of your engine, it sounds to me like it may be the intake manifold gasket. Does this have the 4.3L engine? If so, this is a common problem with these engines. If the leak is severe enough, the cooling system will not build up the pressure it needs and this will cause it to run hot. Hope this helps.

Heater not hot

Hello;
Could be a combination of things. First replace the thermostat with a new one. Then backflush the system, that should fix ya right up. Hope this helps, Thanks;

How do i replace the thermostat in 2001 chevy blazer?

Follow the upper radiator hose to the engine. Right where the radiator hose clamps is the thermostat housing. Remove the 2 bolts that hold the housing on and the thermostat is inside.
