The cances are that the fuel pump relay is faulty,
and not passing the right current

2000 Pontiac Grand am Replaced fuel pump today. Nothing no fuel pressure when I crank it. I check volts at the fuel pump plug in I get 4.9 volts. Shouldn't it be 12 volts. Can someone answer this.

yes. It should be 12 volts. Did you use the replacement harness you should have gotten with the pump? GM has an issue with the harness going bad at the pump that's why new pumps come with a new harness. Also check the relay.

Having problem with 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis LS Fuel Pump. Only getting 6.58 volts at the pump. Suggestions?

Sounds like a bad connection between the two points.
It may be easier to run a new wire than to tear the harness and connectors apart.

97 grand marquis only getting 6 volts to fuel pump when key is on. through the ecm. replaced with a new ecm and still reads the same thing. why?

The PCM does not supply voltage directly to the fuel pump. It controls the fuel pump relay that dupplie the power to the fuel pump. The first thing you need to do is make sure there is 12 volts at the fuel pump fuse. If there is make sure there is 12volts at two of the pins at the fuel pump relay. If that checks out than you need to start looking for corroded wiring between the relay and the fuel pump. Corrosion = resistane which = voltage drop. Let me know what you find and i'll be happy to help you further.

Blower stopped working on my 2001 Mercury Grand marquis

Check the fuse first. If the fuse is good then either the blower motor or the blower motor resistor pack is defective. Check the blower motor by applying 12 volts directly to the motor. If it runs it is good and most likely the resistor pack is bad and needs replacing. it can also be the blower motor speed control but rarely do they go bad.

2000 grand am. replaced relay, fuse, and fuel pump. still is not getting fuel to fuel rail. 5 volts is present at fuel pump but not 12 volts to run pump. reset passlock.....still do not have 12 volts at...

Pull the relay and make sure you have 12 volts there. Pin # 30 is the power to the pump. this will tell you which way you have to go to find a short or corrosion in the wires. let me know

most cars have an oil pressure sensor that is tied into the fuel system that will shut off fuel pump if oil pressure is low. Ford is famous for having a yellow fuel pump cut off switch that activates in a collision - you need to locate and check this 1st

2001 Grand Marquis limped home and now won't start.

The fuel pump is located inthe engine compartment. It has a fuel line running to the intake. Usually the top pump with the belt on it. Your fuel regulator, is located on the fuel tank. That you will have to go under the car to get at. No reason to drop the tank. If this helped please rate. Thank you

you have a voltage drop problem probably a coroded wire if you can open wire harness and do voltage checks down the wire until you find the bad spot and repair or you can run a bypass wire
