Fan continues to run on 94 Mazda 626 - Temp guage goes to "H"

What would cause a fan to contiuously run and the temp guage to reach the "H" position (but car doesn't run hot)? The guage sometimes falls back a little before the "H" position, the higher the speed of the car (like on the highway). Could it be a faulty thermostat?

Wel firstly check your water level (with the engine COLD ), if its low top it up with the correct antifreez mixture, 30%,
look air bleed screws in any hoses , they are normaly at the highest points of the water system, when the engine is running carefuly slaken them off to bleed any air out of the system, if the problem is still happening then you need to dig deeper

SS w/3.8l engine. What would cause the first electric fan not run but when temp rises the second fan will come on?

The coolant fan should kick on when temp reaches 192 degrees. Have you changed your thermostat? The 2nd fan is for the a/c. If car is running hot, it's probably thermostat or cooling fan

I believe the mazda protege has a separate thermoswitch to activate the radiator's fan. Perhaps the fan keeps blowing until the temperature is too low. Try replacing the fan thermoswitch. Just take care to put in tis place a thermoswitch of the same temperature range.

Where can i find the fuse for the cooling fan for a 2000 mazda 626

There should be two fuses for the cooling fan relay in the main box near the battery.
You could have air pockets in the cooling system which would affect the temp sensor.

Try running both wires from battery ground and hot dont spin over more than likely the fan motor itself is burnt up.

I have a 1996 Mazda 626, the check engine light came on and the car has been redlining the the temp gauge. I got the engine codes which are: p0117 and p0421. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?...

The cooling fan must run or the car must be running into the wind to keep from cooking the engine. Physically turn the fan to see if it turns freely (cold engine). The computer reads coolant temperature and trips the fan relay on when normal temperature is reached. You need to read the control voltage at the relay to determine the problem. Possible bad temp sensor.

Cooling fan not working

The fans only run when the engine reaches approxminatly 235 degrees F. on the guage that is near the end of scale just before guage show "HOT" I don't think you have a problem, allot of folks out there don't know about this.
