Question about 1998 Ford Escort
I have just bought a y reg ford escort 1.8 diesel van. it wouldnt start this morn'in, so i was wondering why it is when u put the ignition key in & wait for the glow light 2 go out before starting, that theres a buzz'in sound from what i think is a relay then the mileage on the speedo kicks in also the temp dial & the fuel dial kicks in as well, all this takes about 30 seconds is it normal or is it a fault
I had the same sort of problem, i found that the battery was low, the clicking could be the glow plug relay, as the speedo is electronic, it will flick over to full speed and back down again. Give the battery a good charge, and see if this helps
