Question about 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager

Van is idiling at 4

When you turn on the van it idles at 3 and sometimes 4 and now when i go to put it in drive i have to put it in nuetral and then shut it off and put it in drive, whats wrong?

Only when cold, or all the time? You've checked for any vacuum lines that may have come off right? (hissing sound) If that is all o.k. then I'd be looking toward TPS (throttle position sensor ), but a quick scan (free) at autozone should confirm.

It might be running to rich of a fuel mixture! Though The new emmission control systems tend to smell like rotten eggs!

First try and change the fuel filter. this also happened on a van i worked on. I cahnged the filter and it runs fine now.

Engine shakes when Idling/ Check Engine Light started blinking


i just fixed a similar problem on my van there is a rubber elbow on the end of the pvc hose that connects to the valve cover you can only buy the elbow with the hose and it costs about 100 bucks but i guess they have had to replace a lot of these because the new one looks twice has strong you just have to check and see if its collapsed in on itself preventing air movement or leaking the shop will charge you 175 dollars to fix it plus the part but it only takes 20 minutes good luck

check all connections to sensors and actuaters ,must be clean and dry ,check connectors at ecm and wiring
