What kind of noise does it sound like? Does it go away if you give it gas or after the car is warmed up?

Noise when first starting may be caused by oil leak down after the engine is stopped. This can be caused by cheap oil filters that don't have an anti-drain back valve. This is bad for you engine.
Change the oil and install a good filter like the FRAM Tough Guard or FRAM Extended Guard or any other brand filter that has a good anti-drain back valve. Cheap filters don't have one.

I would check the oil just to be sure its not low on oil. Some cars will make a little noise when they are cold because the oil is not circulating and thick as when the car gets warmed up. Check the oil and let me know.

could be a clutch sensor for starting does it start in neutral after cutting off??? you could check the battery its free at most auto stores but sounds like a sensor or loose connection

Help! 2003 Hyundai Accent problems. Transmission??

well the first thing you need to do is to pull the stored codes in the computer and see what they say and then go from there, this could be a speed sensor or a trany going bad , i dont know if this is an automatic or standard trany, start with the codes from the check engine light, autozone car parts store will scan the computer at no charge,

How do you replace the thermostat in a 2003 elantra gls?

Hi:
If you follow your upper radiator hose back to where it attaches to the engine, that is where the thermostat is located. it is called the thermostat housing and it is held onto the engine with 2 or 3 bolts. If you purchase the thermostat from an auto parts store, they often can give you some specific guidance too. Of course, you need to start this project with the engine cold, and first drain the coolant out of the system. Make sure you have a new gasket or sealant to install teh new thermostat too.

My 2001 hyundai sanfe has hiccups also, engine revs while driving..however, it idles fine..any and all solutions would be helpful..

I would say check your plugs and also, it could be your ignition coils starting to go bad. I'm guessing you don't have a check engine light coming on or intermittently blinking?

Good luck!

2003 hyundai tiburon won't start, (key shape light comes on)

The key icon is not the check engine light but the immobilizer light, therefore the car wont start. I have the same issue with my 03 Tiburon after i changed the motor and tranny. It ran fine for a couple of days and the quit.
I took towed the car to a dealership and they stated I needed a new BCM for $1200. However, I got a used BCM from an auto wrecker and will get the dealership to program it for about $200.
