The crabk sensor was a spoon full of puddin !! HI Located under the bottom of the engine (1) 5/16" bolt holds it in . I tested it at 500-900 ohms although it was bad , I replaced it . Now I took the cap off and rotor , nothing ( no cam sensor ) IN the distributor , I will look on the side of it toward the bottom today . Research says that you only have the crank sensor . My truck , trys to start , then it kicks back like it is out of timing . I hope its not the timing belt . 130,000 miles on truck .

If this is a 5.7L the cam sensor is in the distributer and the crank sensor is in the timing cover

Need to know how many sensor. is on my transmission.. 2003 Pontiac Montana v 6 .. can you show me picture where transmission control solenoid goes?

There are 12 common sensors and 10 internal sensors. The most common that often fail (MAP), (TPS), (CAM), (IGN), (CRANK) MAP is your mass air flow which is located at the beginning of your air intake, TPS is the throttle body position sensor, the CAM is the cam shaft position sensor (transmission), IGN ignition position sensor and the CRANK sensor is located near the bottom driver side front

Were is the crank shaft sensor and the cam sensor on a 2001 gmc 3500 truck? And I'm getting code p0700 p0335 p0342 p0155 on my 0bd2

Hello there,

You can check in the side of the block, above the starter for the crankshaft sensor. As for the camshaft sensor, for a 8.1L engine, it is located on the front of the enigne, that is, at the driver side. You would notice it is a grey 3 wire connector. But for a 5.3/6.0L enigne, it is on top of the engine in the back.

Best of luck!

I would like to know if the cam sensor and the crank shaft sensor are one of the same or two different items

They are two different items. The cam sensor reports the position of the cam shaft(s) which operate the valves. The crank shaft sensor reports the position of the crank shaft, ie the position of the pistons.
