Re: help with 2001 dodge diesel
Throw boy racer sunday mechanic gizmo out of window, first try cleaning fuel filters including one on the fuel pump inside the tank, try this first as it could be water in filter head throwing light on.these boy wonder gizmos are absolutly useless on vehicles from 2007 anyway as in europe its all encrypted software ,dealer only ,who has to connect to factory to reset anything .also with big temperature drop i see on CNN for america this morning perhaps fuel is waxing up???

May or may not throw a code, have you had the alternator checked, this sounds like a bad alternator and also you charged the batteries but have them tested also, this sounds like an alternator problem.
You have two pumps,I guess you know that ,if you already did one. Did you check fuel pressure at the rail and check out the electronic pressure regulator? What codes are coming up and do they stay set?
your computer can have those codes stored in memory although theres nothing actually wrong. you can unplug your battery for about five minutes then hook it back up this should free the codes out of the system.also if youve traveled more than 30,000 miles id relpace the plugs in do a complete tune up.
Hi,first thing your cambelt and tensioner should have been replaced 13k miles ago,it would pay you to replace the water pump at the same time as they are known for impellor failure = cooling system fault=P2181 code, hope this helps.
that fuse feeds power to fuel pump relay circuit that feeds pump could be defective pump,or damaged circuit wires that shorts out! and not a good idea to put higher fuse in circuit could cause more damage to circuit! but i know when your stuck, u do what it takes,so inspect circuit related to fuse,
hi changing glow plugs is nothing to do with this code i would change the fuel filter and put a injector cleaner into the fuel tank as if this doesn,t cure the problem the only other thing that affects the pump is the timming belt has it slipped a tooth is there a marked drop in preformance if not these pumps are expensive very expensive best of luck yates210456
