Eng miss and trans problem on 2004 f250 supereduty have run cleaner thru it helps with miss but will come back the tow lite comes on and trans wont shift

For the engine missfire you will need the coil some will show crack on top some internal, and some leak thru the boot, as for the transmission the tempsensor think its towing or a spped sensor which measure turbine, and compares to out put, wont shift your transmission is worn you can probably see it on the fluid conition being burnt(blackish)

2001 F350 SUPER DUTY; I ran my transmission about a quart low on transmission fluid. It ocaisionly shifts from 1st to 2nd irregularly and slips in 2nd. I can stop then start again and it shifts normaly.

Replace the transmission filter. If transmission still acts up some trash may have penetrated the filter and be causing a shift valve to stick. A teardown and rebuild may be necessary.

Transmission seems to slip more when it warms

Check ATF fluid level and condition. If its not burnt, smells burt and is pink without signs of foaming fluid is a-ok.
However, if it smells burnt and is a dark pink then the stator portion of the torque converter has failed and is not letting the converters' impellar and turbine produce the torque your demanding it to do.
Basically its time for a rebuild.

I have a 2001 F-350 with a 7.3 and automatic trans. The truck has 280,000 miles on it and the transmission is not wanting to shift when it gets hot. Is it still safe to change the fluid and filter? Or will...

No. It is still safe to change the transmission fluid and filter, in fact, it is recommended. Just make sure your fluid level is correct when you are done.

I have a 2001 ford f250 powerstroke diesel was driving and transmision started to slip drove about 3 miles and now wont move forward at all but reverse works fine

Some of the Ford transmissions actually have an aluminum gear which will go out somewhere around 150 to 200 thousand miles. OR it could be really low on transmission fluid.

If you have the 4R70W transmission you use Mercon-V
If you have any other trans in there its just Mercon
