Question about 1990 Honda Accord

Clutch problem in 93 accord due to cold weather

The temperature dropped suddenly below freezing last night and this morning my clutch is completely disabled. will not shift at all. the pedal just sticks to the ground. just had an oil change, so the gears should be well lubricated.

Unfortunatly this could be many problems and you will need to look alot closer. Your clutch return spring could be broken. Your clutch master or slave could be shot as well.

if the engine has provision for coolant and oil heating for cold weather then it would be very advisable to use it

Engine broke due to low temperature


The water expands up to more than 9% when it freeze below 0 degrees Celsius. Due to this phenomena, during the extreme cold weather when the ambient temperature falls below 0 degrees the cylinder blocks of the automotive engines often burst or crack badly.
This damage can be prevented by using the antifreeze coolant in the cooling system.

it sounds like the clutch master is bad it will look something like the brake master cylinder on the fire wall.you can try bleeding it there before replacing the clutch master loosen the lineup have have someone pump the pedal a couple times if you get agood shot of fluid have the person hold the pedal to the floor and tighten the line back up then bleed the system at the bleeder.

Temperature light flashes in the morning when car is cold, this started when the temperature dropp0ed below freezing recently


check the coolant level. mine did this last year. the cold temp makes the level drop just a bit outta range.

1991 454 - clutch will not engage


your clutch fluid has probably leaked out maybe due to a boken pipe or a worn out clutch cylinder. you have to determine where it has leaked from repair where necessary and than bleed the system. good luck
