Dodge stratus thermostat

I have a 2002 stratus 2.7L. Does the air filter have to come off in order to change the thermostat?

I just replaced my thermostat and it is located below the alternator. You have to remove the alternator and the wiring to it and lift the car up. You will then be able to access the thermostat. You could prbably have a local shop fix it for around $175-$200.

How do I change the air filter on a 2004 Dodge Stratus?


Remove the four clips holding the air box top on, follow the large black tube from the top of the engine to the fender to locate it, then after removing clips pull the top up, thus will require some strength and maneuvering, then the filter will be exposed.

The thermostat is located at the upper radiator hose end of the engine. The hose will connect to a housing that will have to be removed in order to change the thermostat.
While you have the thermostat housing removed, make sure you flush the old coolant out and replace with new.

If it's a chrysler engine the thermostat is located just below radiator cap. If mitsubishi diamond star engine it's located on the cylinder head , beside the air cleaner housing

Hi...
The air filter on your Stratus V6.
Is located on Front Engine compartment Driver side.
If you open the hood you will see at the driver side. A black plastic BOX. With one big hose
from the engine throttle body to the Plastic Box.
Inside of the box is the Air filter. just you need to Realese the clips. to open the box.
IS the Only box you will see exept of the fuse box.
