MY BRAKE LIGHTS ON MY 1996 JEEP CHEROKEE LARADEO DON'T WORK, WHY

Sounds like the brake light switch may have gone bad, the switch is located under the dash attached near the brake pedal. If you go underneath the dash and follow the brake pedal lever around, you will see the switch. The switch is activated by the movement of the brake pedal. It may have just gotten loose and needs to be adjusted, have a friend watch the lights while you manually try to work the switch.

If the wiring is ok and fuses also check the bulbs.
next step check brake swich when you apply the brake swich conect pawer when you relece it will disconect.

Hi, there should be a microswitch behind the brake pedal,it works the lights each time the pedal is depressed, it may need adjusting or replacing,or it may have come off its mount.
