Squeaking from clutch

Hello, My Land Rover Defender Td5 has developed a squeaking noise when accelerating in 1st, 2nd and 3rd. It last about 5 seconds and then disappears. There is no slippage up hills. Any ideas would be welcome! Thank you.

Hi my name is neil and im time served on land rovers this was a problem with the first ones that came out and it was the clutch that was at fault. it was made on the cheap and needed to get replaced most landy dealers should be able to do the job in under 3 hours but i think the book time was 6 so if you do get it done watch them do it so they dont over charge you.

have a pressure test done on the gear box to determine if the fault is mechanical. Have the bands and clutch packs adjusted . RTUN fault codes to check TCM problems.

When should the electric fan in front of the td5 defender air con. raidator come on. Should it be running all the time from start up??

no it should not, it only comes on when you turn the ac on or when the radiator starts to heat up, it also works with the temperture sensor, if its not electric then it should be on as soon as the car starts up, its call a clutch fan.

Td5 injector height

Fuel injectors on TD5 are adjustable.Turn the engine over while noting the camshaft position. There are marks behind the cam chain sprocket 1 - 5.With each line next to the number set in the middle of the cam box hole. Adjust the injector stop screw fully in (clockwise),turn the stop screw one full turn out 360 degrees and lock the nut there.Do this with all the injectors in turn with the injector coinciding with the number on the cam shaft.
