Coolant leak i have a 2005 f350 that had no leaks at all until my head gasket went and the ford dealer did repair. they say it is the lower heater hose off the overflow. I tested it and it is fine.but it looks like my water pump is missing a bolt. could the engine over heating burn up the pump

I have not heard of a water pump burning up. The missing bolt may be a problem though. take it to your mechanic and tell them about the problem and "their mistake"

How do I fix a coolant leak

Find leak soon, low coolant will kill a diesel. Keep coolant level correct. Inspect very carefully with a bright flashlight. I like the new Led lights. Look for wet areas radiator hoses, heater hoses water (coolant) pump and Heater coil inside. Do you have any bubbling in the coolant fill tank when engine is running? If so you probably have a Head Gasket failure.

After it warms up check exhaust for steam. Probably head gasket leaking into the exhaust.

2005 ford F350 6.0 diesel will not build power nor turbo power. Misses and losing coolent. will the egr cooler make it act this way

Sounds like a head gasket leak on the intake side or intake gasket. Your boost is leaking out and coolant is leaking into the cylinder. Get a bulletproof kit. It is well worth the money

My 2005 cadillac cts leaks coolant when idling for more than a few minutes after it is warm.

Try to add the recommended coolant sealant from the dealer. If this doesn't work then mechanical repair will be required.

For instance, I have a 1997 Cadillac Deville Limousine that I acquired, and it was leaking antifreeze through the o-ring of the water pump. Replacing the water pump was indicated and did so. But, after that the head gasket was leaking as indicated by a miss and fog coming out of the tailpipe. I repaired that problem by adding a $30 can of Bar's Leaks Head Gasket Repair, the kind that doesn't require draining the coolant system. That did the trick, and haven't had a problem since (for 3 months now).

Where is your coolant leaking from? Is the system within normal operating temperature?

Leaking fluid from under the dash board. What kind of fluid could it be , its a

The most likely problem that you have is a leaking heater core and the fluid that is leaking is actually anti-freeze or engine coolant.Be sure to check the radiator level often until you can get this repaired because low coolant in this car will take out the head gasket and that can be an expensive repair.

2003 f350 6.0 deisel passenger side head leaking coolant to external on start-up as engine becomes warm completely stops leaking

check to ensure that coolant is not leaking into the oil. I would change the head gasket as so as possible. the reason it appears to stop leaking is because the components get warm and expand.

I have a 2003 F-350 6.0 diesel and there is the smell of antifreeze when the engine is warmed and been driven. I changed out the coolant tank, cap and checked the heater coil but it is not leaking nor is...

IF it is a Head gasket leaking into a cylinder you wouldent see smoke you would see white steam coming out the exhaust tail pipe and you should get temp creeping up as the further you go and by wrights you should be getting a missing in that cylinder as you cannot {run on coolant but you can on diesel}, but if you find its the coolant getting either in through the seal under lip on liner or head gasket leaking in coolant but will get a lot worse before getting better as only needs a hair crack to cause your problem..
