We just had the distributor replaced, when we picked it up from the mechanic, it chugged on acceleration and incline. The mechanic said this was a bad spark plug wire. We replaced this, and it is no better, now comes a whistling noise under the hood. It sounds like it is coming from the alt. So under 2k rpm it chuggs on acceleration and incline, and over 2k rpm, it whistles. What could this be?

Could be the alternator bearings (sound) or could simply be air getting in the hoses check all air hoses by tightenning all the clamp screws (which is quite common to loosen over time can cause the car to run like **** and the sound)
