Question about 1995 Dodge Ram 2500

1 Answer

No headlights when cold

After sitting over night in cold weather I have no headlights for 15 to 30 minutes. All other lights work. Sometimes I can hit the brakes and they will come on sooner but not always. I've checked for bad grounds, checked for loose fuse, and no problem found. After they come on I have no further problem. Seems to have to sit for 8 hours are more in cold temps to have the problem. Any ideas??

My kia carens 1.9 diesel is very sluggish from a cold start. After about 50 yds engine picks up .Why?

Replace fuel filter. Diesel motors in cold weather need to run for 10 to 15 minutes before you hit the road. To avoid worming up the engine for that long you need to install the block heater, plug it in every night and you will have no problems any more.

2002 Jeep liberty headlights cut off and then back on at random times. weather makes no difference nor hot or cold. went a way for a few months and now it has started all over again. hear clicking sound...

the clicking your hearing is the relay trying to stay engaged, its heating up causing the relay to power down, which in turn you lose the lights, the heat is caused by the electrical current supplied to the replay, Not the outside temp , locate that relay and replace it, and your problem should be gone

In cold weather, the headlights are slow to come on, and in really cold weather, they can take up to a minute to come on.

could be a relay try that first but sometimes its the switch where the contacts in the switch are slow in touching because the operating mechanism is dirty causing it to take a long time ,try swopping a relay over first as they are all the same relays ,

All lights are supposed to turn off when a subaru key is off right? No! There is a switch on top of the steering wheel column that will turn on lights for warning when parked. You somehow have hit that switch.

When you remove your thermostat check the number stamped on the thermostat. In cold weather you want a high number and opposite cold weather. Right back with number

Audi A4 "left dipped headlight" problem

I have the same issue on my 2002 A4. According to my Audi dealer mechanic, there is a sensor on the front suspension that controls the angle of the headlight. Replacing this may resolve the issue.

Daytime Running lights run the battery dead

The Toyota Service Bulletin is 059633, dated March 13, 2003. My 2003 Corolla has the same problem. When the lights were on this morning after a very cold night, I jiggled the headlamp switch and sure enough, the headlights turned on and off. I found that the lights can be kept off if the switch is pushed forward and left in the "high beam" position when the car is off and the weather is expected to be cold. This is easier than pulling the fuse every time, until the switch can be replaced. It worked for me. Hope this helps.
