Only one of my power windows is not working out n my 2008 Pontiac torrent. All others work fine? Why

Because, Rose, each window rests in a track which is driven by an electrical motor controlled by an up/down switch on each door and, in some if not most models, also by each of 4 switches located on the drivers door - one for each window - so the driver can block kids from messing with them if needed. Although there can be quirky causes which are possible but unlikely, your problem is almost assuredly one of three things:
1.The window motor is dead.
2. The switch is bad.
3. The window has come off the track.
I've answered this question lots of times, and I had a 2001 Buick on which I had to eventually replace all 4 window motors. GM is known for this problem. If it's 1 or 3, your going to have to pull off the door interior panel on the non-working window. Hopefully, the window can simply be placed back in the track and adjusted. If it is the window motor, buy it at a parts store and have a mechanic friend or someone handy do it for you because they will charge a ridiculous price at a dealership. I think I paid maybe $70 at Advance for a motor last I can remember.

Hyundai sonata 97 v6 3l power window driver's side dosent work but rest 3 works ...need help

You may possibly have either a bad master switch or a bad window motor. You will need a simple 12 volt test light for this along with some screwdrivers. Start by removing the door panel. There are only a few screws holding it. Find the 2 wires that go to the window motor. These work on reverse polarity which means they alternate power and ground depending on which way you move the window switch. Connect the test light alligator clip to any near by ground (chassis) and probe one of the wires at the window motor. With the key in the on position, use the window switch to raise or lower the window. If the test light lights up then you know the switch is good and the problem is the window motor. I hope this helps. Good luck.

Hyundai ix35 2012 window lock stuck. passenger window half down and cant get it to move up or down

Before you replace anything, inspect the connector pins in both the driver's door switch and the passenger door switch. If you don't find any problem with these connector pins, replace the driver's door control switch.

1995 Cutlass Ciera : Can check list to repairing power windows

the motor window is worn out which is common. You will have to remove all screws on door panel and then pry panel off. You will then have access to the motor. It may have soldered wires on it. Others can pull off, or you can cut wires up stream and twist back together later with new motor

Is this a major fix should I have towed to dealer Taking out mortgage on my residence first.

Sounds like a weak driver's door lock/unlock actuator (rusted/oxidized) w/the trans clutch safety switch (Ignition Lock Switch) circuit8209a90.jpg
eeb47a1.jpg There is also the possibility the burglar alarm relay(starter kill) circuit is 'OPEN'. To check the starter solenoid circuit & starter, go to the U/H (under hood) Junction box and remove the starter relay. Jumper the starter solenoid circuit at the relay connections in the junction box 40a2524.jpg
Driver's power window problem could be the control switch itself, or the motor has stalled (if only stalled, a simple 'SHOCK' to the motor can get it working again). With the driver's door window switch held in up or down position (depending wether window is UP or DOWN), momentarily HIT the interior door panel at the arm rest 'INWARD' (not too much force... just a SHOCK) you don't want to break the door panel. If this doesn't work, you'll need to gain access to the motor & connector to see if power & ground are present at the window motor connector pins.3595015.jpg8bc893e.jpg
