INJECTOR#4 CIRCUT FROM PCM HAS CONSTANT GROUND. NO CODES

WHILE TROUBLE SHOOTING A VERY BAD MISSFIRE AND CHANGING PLUGS,BOOTS COILS, I BOUGHT IN INJECTOR TESTER. #1#2#3 ALL SEEM FINE BUT ON #4 IT LIGHTS UP THE GARAGE AS SOON AS I TURN THE KEY. IT SHUTS OF WITH THE FUEL PUMP,BUT GOES SOLID WHILE CRANKING.MY BOOK SHOWS ONE COMMON TO ALL FROM FUEL PUMP CIRCUT AND ALL THE OTHERS GO TO SEPERATE DRIVERS FROM PCM. A SHOP HERE TOLD ME THAT IT WAS A PROBLEM THE"VE SEEN WITH GRAND AM 98-04 PCM'S. AM I REALLY GOING TO HAVE TO REPLACE AND REPROGRAM THE PCM. I'M GOING INSANE HERE PLEASE HELP

I've had a problem like that before and I replaced the computer and the problem was fixed. I believe that its the computer at fault. Good Luck

CODE 301 IS #1 MISSFIRE 300 IS RANDOM MISS FIRE 201 IS INJECTOR FAULT . I WOULD START BY SWAPPING # 1 INJECTOR WITH SAY # 3 AND SEE IF THE MISSFIRE MOVES TO #3 IF SO REPLACE INJECTOR, IF NOT THERE COULD BE WIREING ISSUES

Cyl 3 missfire . i changed coil n plug and checked injector , cleared coded but i still get the code poping back up


could have bad plug wire.fuel injector number 3 wires at connector could have short or open.PCM not firing fuel injector 3 could have intake manifold leak at cylinder 3 could mechanical failure at cylinder 3.

P0203 - Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 3

Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) checks the injectors circuit resistance and monitors the voltage drop during normal operation. The PCM/ECM will trigger the P0203 code when the resistance or voltage drop at the injector #3 is out of specifications.

Causes:
- Open or shorted wiring harness to the injector #3
- Bad injector #3
- Bad PCM/ECM

Solutions:
- If damage, repair injector wire harness or connector
- Replace injector
- Replace PCM or ECM


P0204 - Injector Circuit Malfunction Cylinder 4

Same info as the P0203 DTC


P0300 - Random/Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected

When a misfire occurs, engine speed will fluctuate. If the engine speed fluctuates enough to cause the crankshaft position (CKP) sensor (POS) signal to vary, Powertrain Control Module (PCM) or Electronic Control Module (ECM) can determine that a misfire is occurring.

Causes:
- Improper spark plug
- Insufficient compression
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- The injector circuit is open or shorted
- Fuel injectors may be faulty
- Intake air leak
- The ignition signal circuit is open or shorted

Solutions:
- Perform Injector Service
- Replace Spark Plugs
- Replace Injectors
- Replace Ignition Coils

I have a 2000 gmc sierra 5.3 with a number 6 cylinder missfire. things i have done so far: 1. compression test on number 6 tested fine,as well as the rest of the cylinders 2. leak down test. Held...


I would check the valves for number 6. If one or both are burned, stuck or out of adjustment it would cause your problem. If a cam lobe for that cylinder is burned or badly worn it could be the culprit.

Missfire 2000 expidition


there isn't a trouble code that indicates a bad coil... there are misfire codes that can possibly lead to a plug, coil, fuel injector, low compression, or a number of other things. it is possible to have 2 more bad coils-if youve had the engine compartment detailed and they got them wet, that'll do it. other than that it is hard to see 2 coils going at 1 time. spark plugs themselves are more likely.
