Question about 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
I have a plain jane 1998 cavalier 2.2 liter, bought it brand new in 97, only owner...been great car, until now. I came to a stop sign, when I pressed the gas pedal to go, the car BARELY went..like it had no power, then it finally went. drove fine for a mile to the gas station. Pulled in,fine, parked, fine, got gas, restarted car...fine. Put it in reverse...and hit the gas, car started jerking BAD..wouldn't go. Hit gas alittle harder and it went fine...drove perfectly fine all the way home(8miles)...Now I'm afraid to drive it!!! What's wrong!~~Lisa

If your getting a check engine light, take it to autozone get the codes, if it is a miss fire it could be a bad plug or your coil pack is going bad.

Possible dirty fuel filter. I'd start there first, as it's the cheapest route, and quite possibly replacing the filter will solve your problem.
