Turn the ignition key to the "OFF" position with the odometer reading showing. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position while holding down the trip meter reset knob. Hold it for at least 5 seconds. The odometer indicates "000000" and the light goes off.

An '05 Toyota Corolla with 109,000 miles for $6700. Clean carfax, but no records of the oil changes so I don't know how diligent they were about that maintance... any opinions?

you can have the engine compression checked. if the oil has been changed regularly, it should be at least 150 psi on all cylinders, with less than 10 psi difference. between them. the engine vacuum can be checked as well, it should be at least 13 at the intake manifold. good luck, hope this helps!

What does it mean that my maintenance required light is on (2005 corolla)?

The light comes on every 10,000 miles to remind you to change oil and other required service. There is a procedure to reset the light, do a search on Toyota Maintenance Required light.

Maintenance required light blinks every time i turn on my toyota corolla 2005 and i had oil changed at toyota service station?

Hi, it is possible it may require other schedualed services and you are being reminded. However to reset for the oil change you need to have the key off. press and hold down the milage trip reset button and turn the key on. After five seconds the odometer reads "0000000" and the light goes off. If this does not reset then let me know. There is a longer procedure for reseting the other maint services required.

Toyota corolla 2005 how do i removed the service ligth in panel . its like check engine, but diffrent.

Not sure if it's a good idea to remove that lamp. Great opportunity for damage during possibly difficult procedure. If all you want to do is reset the light, check out this Wiki. It's for a different model but at least it's a 2005 Toyota and is worth a try.

How reset maintance required light

I get many calls a week for this procedure...
This is really easy! Follow these directions:

Turn the key ON

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "ODO" and the total mileage traveled. If it is on "Trip A" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "ODO", and the total miles traveled.

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it in.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.
Observe the Odometer display. The total mileage traveled will disappear, and you will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, the total mileage traveled will redisplay.

Release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

Turn the key off.

Press & hold the black tripmeter reset button, hold it until advised to release

Thurn the key to the ON position (do NOT start the car)

This light comes on to rermind you to service the car ( oil, filters ect ) you can turn this off when you start the car by making sure the odometer is showing ( not the trip meters A or B ) and hold in the reset button for the trip meters and turning the ignition switch all the way forward. When this is done the odometer will start to show dashes and when the dashes are gone the light will be reset.
