2005 vibe engine light came on to stay-transmission shifts hard from 1st to 2nd. Auto Zone computer said it was transmission shift control solenoid.

My garage called everywhere and it cannot be bought. So, where does that leave me when I do not have money to take to Pontiac garage for repair?

Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical and oxygen sensor is defective. What does this mean? How does this affect the car? We just bought it 4 days ago. Thanks, Rhawn

My engine light came on and when I had it checked it said that is was the shift valve solenoid. My car is shifting rough mainly from 1st to 2nd gear. It seems to be a very common problem. I took the car to several repair shops and was told to take it to the dealership. I have a pontiac vibe 2006 with 75k miles.

We had the computer code p2716 on our 2005 pontiac vibe -shift solenoid. gm says to replace the pcm before you do anything else.  we tried this and it works.

I have a 2005 pontiac vibe with over a 160,000 miles on it. I have a automatic transmission and the check engine light is on. When driving its make hard shifts but if i'm on the highway it dosen't do this....

There are solenoids inside automatic transmission which will shift gears. Solenoids are typically for 2 gear shifts. Solenoids have a needle that goes out of a cone shaped tube in it and this needle vibrates and breaks the end of the the tube making shifting rough or not at all.
Since the Pontiac Vibe is a Toyota I doubt that this is the issue as they are very tough. You need an OBDii Code reader to indicate what the issue really is before you start changing parts and not getting anywhere. There is an ELM OBDii code reader on Ebay for $10., get the one with the lights and there is a bluetooth type that you can use your phone or tablet.

2005 vibe (80K miles) has clunk in transaxel..rough shift...engine light....but problem is transient.

Have the codes for the check engine light. Your local auto parts superstore usually do it for free.

2005 Pontiac Vibe having trouble shifting 1st 2nd code P2716 MIL

This is most likely due to a bad solenoid pack in transmission. You could have tranny serviced and see if it helps. Poor fluid condition makes valves stick in those.

2005 Chevy Avalanche Transmission Problem

i had the same problem, its the torque converter. I took my 05 c/a in because i was having shifting problem, the long and short of it is there is a breather on the tranmission that sucks in water from the road. the water and the atf dont mix. the dealer put in a torque converter and changed the fluid and installed a redesigned transmission breather.

Pressure Control Solenoid "D" Electrical

You need to take it to a reputable repair facility. The pressure control solenoid needs to be checked for proper operation. If the solenoid is operating properly, the PCM (Powertrain Control Module[computer]) will need to be replaced. If you continue to drive the vehicle with this condition the transmission will eventually destroy itself.
