Question about 2002 Dodge Ram 3500 Truck
My truck sounds like the idle is pulsing up and down when but only when it's ilding. The RPM guage doesn't move though so it's probably not the idle. I have replaced the fuel (lift) pump and fuel filter. When i tow something or drive it really hard then it stops for few days but then when i take it easy for a while it starts doing it again. Anyone have any ideas?

there is a technical service bulletin to relocate the fuel pump on this vehicle when the transfer pump needs replaced. there is the possibility the transfer pump is going bad on the 2003 now...its not good to run them low or out of fuel

do you still have the old style lift pump. located on the fuel filter housing or has it already been updated to in tank style. sounds like that to me. i've done a ton of them. chrysler has a whole conversion kit for this mod

it doesn't have a fuel pump relay it has a fuel pump control unit and it is located on the chassis back quarter drivers side near the tube cross member for chassis on top of chassis rail near bed mount. locate the rear springs front perch and it will be above that on top of rail.
hope this helps. good luck and please ask any question you have.

Get a can of CRC Mass Air Flow sensor or Electronic Parts cleaner.
Disconnect the connector for the Injector Pump and clean out the contacts.
Use a small needle nose to PUSH the contacts into the connector.
Use the reset of the can to clean out other electrical connector.
Use OBDII scanner or disconnect negative battery cable to reset code.
