Make sure also that you don't touch the bulb before you put it in. The oil in your skin will cause the bulb to break when heated.

Sounds to me like you need to reset the headlight housings... maybe they are vibrating very badly. ... OR, easy fix, get NEW headlight housings on EBay and install.

My headlights keep burning out, both bright and normal. They seem to be shorting out and it's getting expensive. Right after I replace one, the other one burns out! My lens covers are also no longer clear,...

If both lenses are foggy chances are your bulbs are acting like fuses and when wet/damp blowing, reseal with silicon,or replace lenses.(when lenses get foggy it is also a sign that the chrome has oxidised.)

The headlight on my 1993 chevolet g20 van keeps burning out. both sides. only one burns out at a time. takes 3 weeks. if i just run with 1 headlight it lasts forever.

High voltage or vibration will shorten headlight life.
Are you always using the same brand of headlights?
Maybe switching to another brand will extend the headlight life?
