Question about 1993 Pontiac Grand Am

1 Answer

Car will turn over but will not start unless gas is fully applied

1993 Pontiac Grand AM Quad 4 2.3 liter (148,951 miles)
The car will not start until gas is applied. When started that car is loud, and seems as if it misses, when put into grear the car seizes up and dies. It has good compression, and all hoses are good. It has new spark plugs and boots.

Check for massive vacuum leak at intake and also check timing ...compression test alone does not eliminate timing as suspect

I'have a 93 pontiac grand am with a 2.3 liter Quad ohc engine that I'bougth from a friend recently when I'did an oil change drove the car for about 400 miles and the check oil light came on and it's been...

If it is full of oil and the oil pressure light is not on. I would drive it. This engine also has a oil level sensor that may be bad making the light to be on. 10w30 is ok but always put in what it calls for next time.
