Reduced engine power light/2002 chevrolete trailblazer

I have this same problem but this happened when it wasn't cold outside. It happened to me while i was driving from work to home. Reduced Engine Power light came on then it slowed down to maybe 10 miles per hour. But the RMP gauge stayed reved up and wouldn't come down. As soon as i disconnected some wires in the front of the truck it ran greater then usual. It also happened to me on a road trip from Tenn. to Texas on a very hot summer day. They said I may need to replace the electrical harness unit? Not sure what's what or even what I'm supposed to agree to when it comes to getting something fixed. Any suggestions, are welcomed

I'm not sure the name of the wires i disconnected. The are to the left of the fan in the front of the engine and close to the opening of the hood. It was explained to me that they send information from the fan to the engine letting the truck know when it's over heating? I hope that helps, I haven't done much of the research on the problem. Sorry :(

I Have had the same problem. I needed a new battery at the time. I just turned it off for about ten minutes and it corrected itself. It has not happened since I replaced my battery. Hope this helps.

You have some kind of ECU problem. You will need to hook to the diagnostic port to find the problem. Your vehicle has gone into limp mode. This enables the vehicle to run, but at a diminished level until you can seek help for the problem. Do not continue to drive it this way as you may cause damage to the engine depending on the nature of the problem.

DTC P1516 Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) Module Throttle Actuator Position Performance

Your vehicle has an electronic throttle body unit so it uses voltage signals to control throttle blade in the throttle body. There are a few different issues that can cause this problem.

First off there is a update for the PCM to address those codes, but you will have to take it to the dealer for that.

Second there is issues with the actuator on the throttle body binding up and causing the codes.

Third there is a yellow wire coming off the throttle body connector that breaks inside internally and cannot be seen to the naked eye. The best way to test that is to grab the wire about 5 inches from the connector and tug if it feels spongy or breaks, that

You need to have car scanned for fault codes, go to AutoZone they do it for free. They will tell you the reason for the reduced engine light and the check engine light.

The 'check engine' light and the 'reduce power engine' light came on on my 2002 chevy trailblazer what could this mean?

A sensor failed. A code will be stored. You need to get the code in order to proceed. With over 200 possible codes its anyones guess what happened.

Reduced engin power light is on

Your Trailblazer's ECM has detected an issue with your engine's performance and has reduced the power till the issue has been addressed. Auto Zone can scan your Trailblazer for the DTC codes and can give you the recommendation for you to address the issue causing your engine to reduce the power. There are just to many things that can cause the engine to reduce the power, so the best bet is to have it scanned and Auto Zone scan free of charge. Good luck and hope this helps.

Reduce engine light comes on with a/c use.

Most likely it is the fan clutch as it is computer controlled. I have had 2 in the shop this year with the same problem. To be sure, have someone check the codes before you start spending your hard earned dollars.
