The ring that holds the headlight bulb in gets twisted to align the tabs so the bulb can be pulled out. the ring should stay on the headlight but if it comes off just line it back up and twist it back on with the new bulb

I have a 2006 tdi vw beetle and am trying to change out the passenger side headlight. i have done it before but it seems like something is catching it. i have already unlocked it and removed the metal...

There is a sliver colored latch that barely can be seen on the bottom, towards the back. Push it down with a long screwdriver or whatever you can reach it with while the headlight assembly is pulled forward. It is spring loaded, so if and when you push the headlight assembly back in you will hear it lock again. Then you can turn the front lock back in place.

How do you get the f headlight out 08 vw beetle

Remove the air cleaner assembly after that push the tab on the headlight this releases the headlight assembly and now just pull the whole headlight assembly out from the outside. Once you have the assembly out now find the tabs on the headlight itself push on these tabs and the bulb will come out of it.

How do you change a 2004 VW Beetle Drivers side headlight

In the engine compartment, behind the headlamp, there is a retaining ring with a lever and a locking tab. You may need to remove the battery cover to see it. Push down the tab and pull the lever to "spin" the ring. This will slightly push out the headlamp. Replace the bulb and place back in. Then "spin" the retaining ring the other way until the tab locks again. ALL DONE!

Replacing 2006 VW Beetle headlight How do you do

This is based on my 2001 Beetle, so hopefully they didn't make it any more complicated by the 2006 model year.

Open the hood and look at the inside of the headlight housing. Going from the back of the housing toward the front, there's a metal clip, then a plastic lever, then a little rectangular button with dots on it. These are all right next to each other. Pop off the metal clip, press down on the little rectangular button, then pull up on the plastic lever. It's kind of like a childproof pill bottle cap, I guess. Once you've done all those maneuvers, the headlight housing should slide out the front. Then you can unplug the wires and replace the whole unit, or open up the unit and replace just the bulb.

Since you're working on the driver's side, you'll also have the added joy of trying to work around the battery compartment. You may have to take the battery cover off to get enough room.
