The latch to unlock the drivers door with the key is broke need to find the part to fix it

1. broken / loose wire
2. power door latch broke/defective. ( operating solenoid in latch is bad).

sounds like one of the switches has failed on the drivers door latch that means a new latch unit is needed or it may be the drivers door module has failed more than likely the latch

there has been lots of problems with the power door lock actulator on this model . you will need to remove the door pannel and then remove the door lock latch assembly and inspect to see if the actulator is broke . If it is broke then you will need to replace the latch assembly as i dont belive that the actulator comes seperate from the latch . but check with your local parts store or dealer

Same thing happened with mine. It turned out that the power door lock motor went out. Since the handle or the switch can unlock the driver's door, both of these mechanisms are connected. When the door lock motor goes out it freezes in whatever position, it was last engaged.

its a spring that brakes off on the door latch that hooks up to the lock mechanism. it happens all the time, on my car twice. you gotta get any screws you can off door panel and then get tough with it and pull it off. its not easy. but i havent broke mine yet. replace the spring, dont need a whole latch

Try some spray on the latch and some in the lock, sounds like it's frozen up.

The outside door handle spring is broke ,or the latch spring is broke. The only way to tell is remove the door panel and inspect the rod from the handle to latch. Look for broken spring on handle. I have installed an external spring from the handle rod to latch to keep the rod in the full up position.

seems to be a common problem on 03 kia's. most likely the latch mechanism is worn (they are mostly plastic and pretty cheaply made) and will need to be replaced. It happened to my kia and most mechanics directed me to the electric actuator, but all electircs were ok. drivers door latch went bad about 45k and front passenger door latch went bad about 65k.

drivers door latch is bad there is a module in the latch so the electric side is inop

needs door lock actuators... and all the door latches need cleaned and lubed... spray brake cleaner on latch let dry then spray some wd-40 or equialant on latch... it may need latches too but usually cleaning them will fix them
